CETE was composed in 2019 and 2020 for Dan Grabois (horn), Mark Hetzler (trombone) and Tom Curry (tuba) from the Wisconsin Brass Quintet.
The single movement work is in three sections: Allegro molto - Andante - Vivace. This structure of two high-energy sections with a respite in between is inspired by the personality of the young Arthur Nichols. CETE is the composer’s second low brass trio, the first being his 1978 composition Triangles.
