About Kinderszenen

Schumann's best work for piano

The "Kinderszenen" is certainly one of Schumann's best work for piano. Every one of the 13 movements is a masterpiece by itself. His sense of phrasing was one of his greatest gifts as a composer. It pervades all his music but most especially the "Kinderszenen" wich makes them well suited for wind instruments. Each movement depicts a different scene of a child's life.
