Zdenek Divoky (*1954)
Biography
Zdenek Divoky, born 1954, studied horn at the Conservatorium and Janacek Academy of Art in Brno with Frantisek Solc.
He won prizes at the Munich, Prague and Markneukirchen international competitions.
His professional career began with the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra in 1973. In 1979 he joined the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in Prague.
Zdenek Divoky was an active chamber musician with various chamber ensembles – Horn Trio Prague, Czech Wind Harmony and Czech Philharmonic Octet. In 1997 he recorded four Horn concertos by Antonio Rosetti for Hänssler Classic.
From 1992 to 2018 he organized the Hornclass masterclasses with Jindrich Petras and Jiri Havlik. Zdenek Divoky was professor of horn (2006–2018) at the Music Academy Prague where he graduated in 2005 with a Ph.D degree. He now teaches at the Conservatorium Prague.
