Paul Hanmer (*1961)

Biography

Paul Hanmer was born 1961 in Cape Town, South Africa, exactly 50 years after the death of Gustav Mahler. He has spent much valuable time wondering about the possible significance of this.

The rest of the time he spends working as a composer, pianist and recording artist. He has written music for several documentaries, his own albums as a leader, other recording artists and for several leading contemporary virtuosi.

Now based in Johannesburg, he lives in a house with a nice garden, which he shares with his wife, two daughters and two cats.
