Michel Chebrou (*1954)
Biography
Following conservatory-level studies in Le Havre and Versailles, France, Michel Chebrou wins several prizes in clarinet and composition. Successively soloist, conductor, teacher, music announcer for Radio France and music school director, Chebrou is currently professor of music at the Lycée Malherbe of the Centre culturel La Prairie in Caens, Normandy, and clarinettist with the Havre Wind Ensemble.
He is also on the board of the World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE), French division. Michel Chebrou has written over a hundred pieces for wind ensemble, chamber music formations and recital performance, for renowned artists such as the Baermann Sextet, the Paris Saxophone Quintet, the Paris Reeds’ Orchestra, trombonist Jacques Mauger and tubist Bernard Liénard.
